Dr Jane Butler appointed to chair Cybertonica board

Cybertonica, an award-winning fraud prevention and payment risk management company, has appointed Jane Butler, former Cisco Global CTO and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at University College London, to the role of Chair of the Advisory Board.

The news came after Cybertonica won the Best Use of Payments Data Award at the prestigious #EPAwards2018, held at The Hilton Park Lane on October 10th  and underscores Cybertonica’s diversity policy and the Company’s participation at the European Women in Payments Network conference in Amsterdam.

Jane Butler spent 30 years in the Internet industry, initially working on early global networks in the oil industry for Shell and Exxon. She then went on to help grow Cisco from a small startup to the global company it is today, working on the design and deployment of leading corporate networks as well as establishing the pubic Internet. Whilst based in Silicon Valley, Jane actively supported several small companies to grow and exit alongside running a Foundation looking at Internet access in parts of the world lacking infrastructure. Jane is the author of wndw.net used as a standard text worldwide.

In her new role at Cybertonica, Jane Butler will be responsible for building out the organisation’s top level partnerships and managing team growth with the CEO, Joshua Bower-Saul, as the Company enters a phase of fast growth. Jane and Joshua are committed to diversity and seek to improve the gender parity at the Company.

Jane is currently Vice Dean of University College London overseeing the industrial work of the Faculty of Engineering working in fields as diverse as Artificial Intelligence, Cyber, Virtual Reality and IoT. She is passionate about attracting and supporting young people to study Engineering and eager to assist many who choose to start and grow new companies. Jane is a Fellow of the IET and the BCS and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.

Jane Butler, Cybertonica’s new Chair of the Advisory Board, said:
